Dave started young, pushing a mic in front of the likes of Sammy Davis Jnr, Peggy Lee, Tom Jones, Stevie Wonder, Barbra Streisand and Paul McCartney at ATV in Elstree. Moving on to Radio Clyde, he headed the commercial production department until setting up an independent dubbing studio with his writer wife Barbara in 1983.  Dave has also arranged and conducted orchestras for BBC Radio 2  and also backed Cilla Black and Bob Monkhouse in cabaret as well as many Scottish artists, and he composed the theme tunes of many BBC TV comedy shows, including Chewin’ The Fat, The Karen Dunbar Show and Offside. He has mixed almost every episode of BAFTA (Scotland) award winning IWC’s Location Location Location (C4) for the past 20 years and now heading up IWC’s dubbing suite he mixed many network IWC series’ including Extreme Fishing with Robson Green  (C5), Britain’s Most Historic Towns  (C4) and Secret Scotland with Susan Calman (C5).

In 2020 he received the Royal Television Society (Scotland) award for Sound - The Importance of Being Oscar (BBC Two), World’s Greatest Warships (C5) and Britain’s Most Historic Towns (C4)
