The Erotic Adventures of Anais Nin
Lucy Cohu stars in a full and frank docu-drama about the sexual escapades of the 20th century writer and diarist Anais Nin in pre-war Paris. Cohu plays the older Nin recounting how her diary, which contained all the details of her wild love affairs, fuelled her passion for writing. Using Nin’s original prose, the film tells the story of her frustrated marriage to Hugo Guiler, her love affairs with the writer Henry Miller and his wife June, and subsequent sexual encounters with a range of men. Contributing writers, academics and Nin fans including Rowan Pelling, Bonnie Greer and Bidisha provide further observations on Nin’s life, her work and importance in the story of literature and feminism. Produced, directed and written by Sarah Aspinall.
