Up Late with Nicola Benedetti

Recorded late and live at the Edinburgh International Festival, Nicola Benedetti presents two concerts featuring some of greatest musical performers in town.

The first features music and song from Orquesta la Pasión alongside Schola Cantorum de Venezuela; virtuoso Sarod player Soumik Datta; The Leonore Piano Trio perform Beethoven’s Ghost and Dame Sarah Connolly sings Bach’s Erbarme dich. The entire company take to the stage for a spectacular finale curated by violinist and conductor Greg Lawson.

American trumpeter and composer Wynton Marsalis headlines the second jazz special performing with three world class musicians – Joe Webb on piano, drummer Francesco Ciniglio and Will Sach on bass. They’re joined by special guests Hamilton de Holanda on the bandolim and Wynton’s daughter Oni Marsalis joins them to sing the jazz classic Body and Soul.
